Jean U. Webb, 86, of Hattiesburg, passed away Friday, February 4th at Forrest General Hospital. Visitation will take place at Moore Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 8th at 10:30 a.m. and the service will follow at 11:30 a.m. Burial will take place at Highland Cemetery.
Jean was born on March 3, 1924 in Long Beach, California and she was raised in Santa Barbara, California. During W.W. II she met and married John H. Webb of Columbia, MS. After moving to Mississippi they lived in Columbia, Sumrall, and Jackson before moving to Hattiesburg in September of 2000 to be closer to family. While living in Jackson, she worked for the Jackson Public Schools and the Selective Service System. Some of her interests were oil painting, reading, playing cards, and her beloved dogs.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Webb; parents, Willard and Verna Ulrich; a sister, Dorothy Foster; a brother, Don Ulrich; and a son-in-law, Jim Collins.
She is survived by three daughters, Linda Collins and Sherry Rasco (George) of Hattiesburg and Pat Webb of Carrollton, Georgia; a sister, Ruth Pemble of California; two grandchildren, Adelle Martin (Pat) and Clay Rasco (Glenna); and four great-grandchildren, Nicholas Martin, Conner Martin, Lyla Rasco, and Trent Rasco.
The family wishes to thank the staff and friends at Hattiesburg Health and Rehab and the staff of the E.R. at Forrest General Hospital for their compassion and professionalism. We also want to thank a very special person, Dr. Rodney Lovitt for his special care with our mother.
